RALEIGH, N.C. — Some repair work will create a traffic headache in the Triangle.
Two lanes in each direction of Interstate 40 between Highway 15-501 and the Durham Freeway will be shut down for the next several weeks. The closures will happen between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.
Crews will add special asphalt to a stretch of crumbling concrete that is just three years old.
Contractors and the state Department of Transportation have not decided who will pay for the repairs.
