RALEIGH, N.C. — Crews from the state Department of Transportation will shut down a lane of Interstate 40 in Orange County for the next two days.

DOT officials said the lane closures will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday to install electronic traffic monitoring sensors in the pavement.

Officials said the work will take place between mile markers 268 and 271 with traffic restricted to one lane in each direction.
