Some Drivers Not Pleased With New Twists On U.S. 1 Project

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — There are some new twists to the U.S. 1 construction zone. Many drivers said the new lane shifts and shorter ramps are causing delays during rush hour.

The state Department of Transportation said it needs to shift lanes and squeeze ramps to finish the project by October 2006.

Many claim they feel the current traffic pattern is dangerous.

The DOT said there will be another lane shift in about six weeks.
