Durham, N.C. — A ramp linking Interstate 40 and the Durham Freeway reopened Wednesday night after being closed for 12 hours while workers righted an overturned tractor-trailer.
The fully loaded tractor-trailer flipped on the ramp at about 9:50 a.m. when the driver lost control of his rig, authorities said. Police charged Ashenifi Anteneh, of Los Angeles, with speeding.
Crews spent the rest of Wednesday trying to right the truck and prevent the load from shifting and toppling the rig over again.
The state highway patrol said the ramp, from I-40 eastbound to the Freeway northbound, reopened at 9:45 p.m.
