Traffic Shift In Works For McDowell Street In Raleigh

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Construction of the downtown convention center in Raleigh will require a traffic lane shift on McDowell Street from South Street to Davie Street beginning on Friday.

The shift is designed to allow for the installation of the underground utility crossing at the intersection of McDowell and Cabarrus streets plus the construction of a bridge at the intersection. The detour will remain in place until early 2006.

A subsequent traffic lane shift will occur early next year across the new bridge at McDowell and Cabarrus streets.
