CARY — If your car breaks down in the U.S.1-64 work zone in Cary, don't expect to find it where you left it.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will tow away abandoned cars to keep the construction area clear. Tow-truck drivers will take vehicles to designated areas just outside the work zone.
The $58 million widening project won't be done until late 2006 at the earliest.
