RALEIGH, N.C. — Some are questioning whether a half-cent sales tax would help to pay for a commuter rail in the Triangle.
The Regional Transportation Alliance went to San Diego to see their commuter trains last week. The city pays for rail with a half-cent local sales tax.
Some members of the alliance said a similar tax could help the Triangle Transit Authority's planned line from Durham to Raleigh.
The Wake County legislative delegation is mixed on the tax proposal.
