Workers will close lanes on the Beltline's inner loop between Six Forks Road and New Bern Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

At least one lane will be open for drivers, but drivers should expect delays.

Also, road crews are scheduled begin extensive road repairs on Interstate 40 between Durham and Chapel Hill Saturday night at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Monday. The weekend work will involve intermittent lane closures and will be concentrated on I-40 East between the Fayetteville Road and N.C. 55 exits.

Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route if possible. Through traffic should take I-85 north, to the Durham Freeway south (N.C. 147), back to I-40, or use US 64 to avoid the area completely.

DOT officials said the I-40 road repairs will be scheduled for weekends until Thanksgiving.
