Traffic stop yields meth bust

Posted February 18, 2010

Wake County sheriff's deputies arrested a Winston-Salem man Wednesday on drug and weapons charges after a routine traffic stop turned up more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine.

After deputies pulled over Moises Avila Garcia, 28, of 118 Charleston Court, a K-9 alerted them to the presence of the drugs, authorities said.

In the car, deputies found the meth, valued at about $175,000, and a semi-automatic handgun with the serial number defaced. They charged Garcia with trafficking drugs and altering/removing the serial number from a handgun.

He was being held Thursday under a $2,010,000 bond.

Should have never made it to the streets....

someone somewhere new someone was making it and did nothing.

Stop it where it starts....that was way done the road from the beginning of the process.

If you got to get a recipe of deadly chemicals and cook it up.....so you can smoke it, you got problems....big bad nasty problems.

huh? ok I don't see that it says where he got pulled over. So you know that he 1 was going the right speed 2 used turn signals 3 wasn't weaving 4 wasn't trying to pass someone illegally 5 had headlights, taillights working 6 didn't run a red light 7 didn't blow off a stop sign 8 wasn't violating other traffic issues? Wow - you got all this out of this short story, you are good!
I have no problems with these stops. If it slows one person down - or gets a person like this of the road. Take my 3-6 minutes. The thing you should have ben worried about is that he had so much drugs- and the gun.( why was the serial number scratched off- crimes- robbers- murderers???) But you are saying it was a set up? What is wrong with people today?
