RALEIGH, N.C. — A traffic signal outage at Hedingham Boulevard and New Bern Avenue (US-64) could cause major delays for Monday's back-to-school commute.

Around 3:30 a.m., a car crashed into a utility pole near 4713 New Bern Avenue.

The crash caused power lines to drop over New Bern Avenue, blocking traffic completely.

Officials said all inbound lanes on New Bern Avenue will be closed for several hours, and outbound traffic is reduced to one lane.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until repairs can be made.

No serious injuries resulted from the wreck.
