— It has been a busy week and the weekend will continue that trend. Here are our suggestions on how to spend the first weekend of 2014 in the Triangle:

Comedian Tracy Morgan plays Goodnight’s Comedy Club in Raleigh Friday through Sunday. Tickets start at $35.

Jay Z is taking his Magna Carter world tour to the Greensboro Coliseum on Sunday night. Tickets start at around $32.

Celebrate Three Kings Day with a parade at Bond Park in Cary on Saturday. The ninth annual parade features music and people in traditional dress.

Fans of filmmaker Tim Burton should head to Southland Ballroom Saturday night. The burlesque show “Nightmare After New Year’s: A Tribute to Tim Burton” will feature Vaudevillians doing an interpretation of some of his films and characters. Tickets start at $8.Hot chocolate at the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary

Whether you are a big mug racer or a little cup runner, there is something for everyone at the first Hot Chocolate Run this Sunday at Bond Park in Cary. The event features a 5K and 1 mile run. Entry fee is $17 and you get a ceramic mug and hot chocolate with marshmallows when you finish the race. You can even bring your dog along for an extra $5. They will get a doggie treat when the race is done.
