Tractor-trailer wreck slows I-540 traffic in Raleigh
A tractor-trailer wreck on Interstate 540 at Louisburg Road in Raleigh slowed traffic to a crawl Wednesday night, Raleigh police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A tractor-trailer wreck on Interstate 540 at Louisburg Road in Raleigh slowed traffic to a crawl Wednesday night, Raleigh police said.
The 18-wheel double decker truck, transporting two decks of cars, crashed around 6:30 p.m. and became lodged under an overpass for nearly three hours. One of the cars on the truck fell off and crashed down into some nearby trees.
Two out of three eastbound lanes of traffic remained closed as of 11 p.m. and vehicles were being detoured to exit 18.
It wasn't clear what caused the wreck.
