CLAYTON, N.C. — A budget proposal for the 2010-11 fiscal year would cut 13 positions -- two of them part-time -- from the Town of Clayton payroll.

Town Manager Steve Briggs said the town was facing a revenue shortfall of about $700,000.

The budget proposal would leave property taxes unchanged at 54 center per $100 valuation, and town employees would not get a cost of living increase. Water and sewer rates would be raised effective July 1.
