Courthouse where Edwards will learn fate bears familiar name
The cornerstone of the Greensboro federal courthouse, where a jury is deliberating whether John Edwards illegally used money from Virginia heiress Rachel "Bunny" Mellon to hide his affair while running for president, bears the name of Mellon's father-in-law. A.W. Mellon was the U.S. Treasury secretary when the courthouse was built in the 1930s.
The jury in the John Edwards trial is now asking for every scrap of paper every piece of evidence they can get their hands --the very courthouse. That bears her family's name is not fascinating.
