Toledo sees shake-up in city administrators

The City of Toledo announced big changes Tuesday to some of its administrator positions.

TOLEDO, OH — The City of Toledo announced big changes Tuesday to some of its administrator positions.

According to a release from the city, Paul Rasmusson was hired to head up the Department of Public Service starting August 11, 2017.

Rasmusson joins the city from GFL Environmental, in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He previously worked with the City of Toledo as Senior Area Manager for Republic Services.

The City of Toledo has also hired Reena Dar as the Assistant Chief Operating Officer beginning August 8, 2017. She previously worked for Ontario Public Service in the Ministry of Government Services and the Ministry of Transportation in Canada.

Dar will oversee the communications activities and work with key stakeholders of the City.

Janet Schroeder, the city's most recent public information officer, will return to the Department of Public Utilities and work with the Regional Water Task Forces' community outreach efforts.

Finally, Alicia Smith, Executive Director of the City of Toledo Youth Commission, will move from part-time to full-time employment.

Smith has been the part-time Youth Commission Executive Director since January 2016, working 25 hours a week. She will be paid an annual salary of $61,844.
