— A 1-year-old boy nearly drowned at a pool in the 200 block of Post Avenue in Fayetteville Sunday evening, police said.

Tyrone Lock was in full cardiac arrest and had no pulse when firefighters arrived, police said. The boy's family had pulled him from an above-ground pool at about 7:30 p.m. and began trying to resuscitate him.

He was transported him to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where physicians were able to revive him.

He was listed in critical condition at the hospital on Monday.

"God's not ready to take him yet," said his aunt, Nicki Scott, who added that the family is praying hard for his recovery.

The incident remains under investigation, but police said the incident appears to be an accident and no charges are expected.

To anyone who reads this I just wanted to let you know we live 3 houses away from the family. There was alot of help when it came to save the childs life. If it was not for the fast action of the neighbors in this block even if EMS states that the child had no pulse. We did what came natural. As far as people stating that, it could not happen to them or that it's poor parenting you never know until you are in that situation so for that family out of respect if you can't say anything nice please don't make them feel worse. One last note just remember without the Grace of GOD and prayers and a big belive in him that child would not be here. So thanks to GOD 1st and then to EMS and all who helped we rock. To the family please let this be a leason keep a good eye on the little ones no matter what it just take one blink of an eye for your whole world falles apart

I pray that there are no lasting effects on the poor child.

Accident or not it is unacceptable for this to happen to a helpless 1 year old. VERY poor parenting, I would barely let my 1 year old out of sight.
