— A two-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in a Cumberland County pool Monday evening has died.

A GoFundMe page for Landon Adams, who was just shy of his third birthday, said he died Friday.

The toddler was found in the pool during a family gathering at 6645 Carriage Crossing Drive in the Grey’s Creek Area. The homeowner, Jason Adams, started CPR on his nephew, who was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and placed on life support.

According to a family post on Facebook, the incident Monday occurred during a celebration, exactly one year after Adams’ 11-month-old daughter fell into the same pool.

On Tuesday, authorities with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said they would be taking a close look at the incident because of the coincidence of two similar tragedies at the same location and involving the same family.

something is so strange here.... the home owner is a physician's assistant and one year ago his 11month old child survived near drowning... and now his nephew is dead from drowning.... went unnoticed in the pool on the exact same day... ?????????????????????

She was injured very badly. Required CPR and resecitation at the scene and was on a ventilator in intensive care according to their Facebook post which was published with another news story. So it was by no means minor. These individuals should WANT to fill the pool with concrete.

Their daughter survived. Something is wrong with picture though. One would think they would be a lot more cautious as pool owners after what happened last year.

What happened to the 11-month old a year ago, though? Did she recover or did she die also?
