RALEIGH, N.C. — Good morning and welcome to Today @NCCapitol for Thursday, May 28. Here's what's going on at the General Assembly:

Both the House and Senate are scheduled to meet at 11 a.m.

IN THE HOUSE: Members are due to finish debating a bill that would allow magistrates to recuse themselves from performing marriages. The measure was crafted to allow those who don't want to perform weddings for gay and lesbian couples to follow their religious principles.
IN THE SENATE: The Senate floor calendar has a number of bills that have caused a stir as they cleared committees this week. Members are due to debate measures that would increase restrictions on abortions, allow distilleries to sell limited quantities of alcohol direct to the public and expand opportunities for hunting on Sundays. WRAL.com plans to carry the Senate floor session live at 11 a.m. Check the Video Central link on the homepage.
