Today: Get your Go Ask Mom discount membership to natural sciences museum

Posted June 16, 2015

Bees were a huge part of BugFest at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences on Sept. 20, 2014.

The deal is today! I know many people took advantage of this special Go Ask Mom membership discount to the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences last year. In fact, a few moms who did emailed me this year to find out if we are doing it again.

We are! And it's today!

Here's the deal: Today, Tuesday, June 16, get a family membership to the downtown Raleigh science museum for $55, which is $15 off the usual $70. All you need to do is present code GOASKMOM at the museum box office or enter the code GOASKMOM when purchasing a family membership online. Again, this is good for today.

I've written before about the perks of membership to a museum with no admission fee. I'll list them again. My family has really enjoyed our membership there.

Members get:

Free admission to special exhibits. A new exhibit called Extreme Mammals will open this fall. Tickets to that exhibit would cost a family of four $50 (for two adults and two kids ages 5 to 11). So a discounted family membership would nearly pay for itself after a visit to the exhibit. But you could go as many times as you'd like! My girls and I have been known to go to special exhibits a half dozen times over the course of a run.

Perks such as discounts on birthday parties; discounts and priority registration for summer camps (which I highly recommend); a discount at the museum store; special events for members; and hospitality areas at some of the museum's big events such as BugFest.

Free or discounted membership to more than 300 science museums around the world, which come in handy on family vacations this summer.

Bonus: Your $55 family membership is fully tax deductible.
