Time Warner Cable, science museums, Morehead team up for fair activities

Time Warner Cable, the Museum of Life and Science, the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and Morehead Planetarium are teaming up for some special free science, technology, engineering and math activities at the N.C. State Fair.

Time Warner Cable, the Museum of Life and Science, the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and Morehead Planetarium are teaming up for some special free science, technology, engineering and math activities at the N.C. State Fair, which runs until Oct. 21.

You can find the booth near Dorton Arena and Gate 2.

Here's the schedule:

  • 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, “Wouldn’t It Be Cool If” Idea Wall with iPod Touch Giveaway. Kids will be invited to post their own creative ideas for cool inventions. The best idea will win an iPod Touch.
  • 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Museum of Life & Science – All About Alpacas. Learn about Alpacas and explore hands-on activities that focus on their adaptations, diet, exercise, and their impact on local agriculture.
  • 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, NC Science Festival and Morehead Planetarium and Science Center presents Science Live! with live science demos and interactive activities.
  • 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday. The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences presents Pond Critter Palooza with aquatic insects and how they relate to water quality.
