Maybe our Runner Moms series earlier this year inspired you to hit the pavement. Or maybe you need something to kick you off the couch.

Here's an opportunity: Stroller Strides has some programs for runners of all levels, including beginners, interested in training for a 5K, 10K or half marathon.

The programs begin as early as Aug. 10 and culminate in participants running in a race in October or November in the Triangle.  Raleigh Running Mamas and Midtown Moms on the Run groups are held twice a year in Raleigh, Cary and Apex.

Moms of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. In the 5K program, beginners will just run one to three minutes at a time at the start. Advanced training plans also are available for experienced runners. You can bring strollers, though they are not required. And dads are welcome to join in the fun as well. Weekday, evening and weekend options are available.

Participants meet one to two times a week with a trained and experienced running coach. They learn about a variety of topics, including shoes, nutrition, hydration and more, and then go on group runs together. On their own, they run once or twice a week according to a weekly training plan.

You can do this! I have to admit after running my first half marathon in April, I'm hooked and have plans to run others in October and April.
