It's time to sign up for Duke Gardens' Nature for Sprouts program.

The popular program, which fills up fast, is designed for kids ages 3 to 5. The hour-long Friday morning class offers a chance for kids to explore the seasons, incorporating stories, movement and music and introducing them to garden ecology and plant science.

The fall series runs Oct. 8, Oct. 15, Oct. 22 and Oct. 29. The winter series continues in February, then spring in April and summer in July. The fee is $6 per child per class. Pre-registration is required and slots fill up. Children must be with an adult. And garden staff ask that you make other arrangements for younger siblings.

Check Duke Gardens' website for details and how to register.
