Tillis, NC Republicans talk GOP campaign efforts
The U.S. Senate race is at the top of North Carolina's ballots this fall, and Republican nominee Thom Tillis is helping lead the GOP's charge to get out the vote.

The state Republican Party held a kickoff event Saturday at state GOP headquarters in Raleigh for its grassroots efforts to elect Republicans up and down the party's candidate slate. Tillis and other party notables spoke at the event.
Tillis is seeking to unseat Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan. Her seat is considered one Republicans need to retake control of the chamber.
When asked about a budget stalemate in the house, Tillis said that there isn't one. "There is a continuing negotiation where we are making progress," he told WRAL News following the rally.
When discussing border security, including thousands of migrant children crossing the border alone each year, Tillis said the border needed to be sealed before anything else is done.
The Hagan and Tillis campaigns Friday confirmed dates for two of three scheduled televised debates. The debates held by the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation are set for Sept. 3 and Oct. 7.
