Raleigh, N.C. — With the huge success of the "50 Shades of Grey" trilogy and a movie on the way, it seems only fitting that it makes the move to the stage...in parody form.
"50 Shades! The Musical" opens with a ladies book club deciding to read the erotic novel. Through their interpretation of the book, the audience is led on a comedic roller coaster. There are dance numbers, 11 original songs and a live back up band.
The production will visit the Progress Energy Center in Raleigh April 2-6. Tickets went on sale today and range from $28 to $45.
As with the books, the production is not for those under 18 years old, but "does not cross boundaries that would make general audiences squirm," according to a press release.
Find out more about the show on its official website. It sold out in Chicago and got four-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
