Tickets on sale now for Disney's The Little Mermaid show in Raleigh

The show will hit the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in Raleigh next summer.

A heads up that tickets are on sale today for Disney's The Little Mermaid starting today. The show runs July 29 to Aug. 3, 2014, at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

The show is based on the Disney animated movie. Here's a description: "Disney’s under the sea spectacular hits the stage! In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. ... Prepare to be swept away by the classic songs you remember, and delighted by new ones written by Oscar-winning Disney tunesmith Alan Menken. The show is spectacular fun for the whole family!"

Tickets also are on sale starting today for "Elf, the Musical," which runs Nov. 12 to Nov. 17, at the center in downtown Raleigh. It's based on the 2003 movie "Elf," starring Will Ferrell.

Tickets start at around $34 for both The Little Mermaid and Elf.

And tickets continue to be on sale for "Dora the Explorer," which runs Nov. 1 to  Nov. 3, and "Frosty the Snowman," which runs Nov. 29 to Dec. 24. Dora and Frosty are part of the new Storybook Theatre series.

Tickets for the Storybook Theatre series shows start at $14 plus fees.
