Tickets available Monday for Michelle Obama appearances

— Students at universities in Durham and Greenville will have their first chance Monday morning to get tickets to see Michelle Obama, who will visit the campuses this week.

The first lady will stump for her husband and promote voter registration during two public appearances Wednesday. She is scheduled to speak at North Carolina Central University in Durham about 1:30 p.m., and East Carolina University at 5:45 p.m.

Both events are free and open to the public, but space is limited.

NCCU students with valid student IDs can get tickets, starting at 9 a.m., at the Alfonso Elder Student Union, Room 104B, 505 Nelson St. Tickets will also be given out at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

In Greenville, tickets will be available at 10 a.m. Distribution will continue at 10 a.m. Tuesday if any tickets remain. Obtain tickets at the Organizing for America campaign offices at 214A E. Arlington St., Greenville, or 2509 Sunset Ave., Rocky Mount.

    I wish I could get a couple of tickets but I have to go to work. I guess that doesn't apply to a lot of her followers.

    Let's see. You have to pay to see someone you're already paying to support. After several $10 million vacations, you'd think she's pay people to come hear her lies about her husband's performance to date and his plan to finish what he started in destroying America.

    Michelle Obama doesn't need to speak to students because their professors are going to give them extra credit for voting for Obama anyway. She ought to meet with the "middle class" who have lost their homes due to foreclosure.

    If they are advertising the fact that tickets are available tells us that they are worried about rounding up a sufficient sized crowd...oh well...
