Ticket stub from Michael Jordan's first college game at UNC up for auction

A piece of college basketball history with a North Carolina connection is up for auction.

The starting bid was $3,000 and the current bid was up to $3,993 around noon on Wednesday. The ticket carries PSA GD 2 grade and according to Lelands, is only the second known stub from the game.

The UNC game against Kansas on Nov. 28, 1981, was played at the Charlotte Coliseum. UNC won 74-67 in front of 11,666 fans.

UNC fans will remember that season for other reasons - the Tar Heels finished 32-2, upheld a No. 1 ranking for much of the year and won Dean Smith his first national championship.

Jordan was named the ACC's rookie of the Year and hit the go-ahead shot in the final minute to beat Georgetown in the title game.
