'Big Gulp' bill heads to Senate: An ALEC bill banning local governments from limiting the size of soft drinks is likely to win state Senate approval next week.
Abortion ed bill passes House: A bill requiring 7th graders to be taught that abortion is a risk factor for later miscarriages is headed back to the Senate.
Speed limit hike runs out of gas: A proposal to raise the state's maximum speed limit to 75 mph is parked for the rest of the session after House lawmakers voted it down.
Lawmakers back controversial Durham development: The state House tentatively approved a measure that would force Durham to extend water and sewer lines to the 751 South development.
