— Police said Monday that they have charged three Wakefield High School students in a recent string of BB gun shootings that shattered windows in north Raleigh.

Che’ Cahvez Wilson, 18, Leroy Kendall Johnson, 16, and Quinton Ridges, 18, have been charged with injury to personal property.

Several vehicles parked in the Wakefield development had their back windows shot out by a BB gun in late April. Packaging for a BB gun was found in a nearby shopping center parking lot.

An application to search Ridges' cellphone noted that he had sent a WRAL News story about the BB shootings to several friends and then traded texts with friends about it.

Police said more arrests are likely.

These guys are lucky someone didn't just see the BB gun and assume that it was a real gun and shoot them for real. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Yep these kids are going to be wonderful contributers to society one day (eyes rolling).

"What's wrong with the media? In the great spirit of gun control call it what it is. An air rifle. A BB gun is a toy from the 1950's and 60's.
    meeper"

A BB gun is not a toy! People have been killed and many have lost eyes because of BB guns!

An air rifle shoots plastic pellets and won't shatter windows. BB guns on the other hand shoot metal pellets and can damage or kill.

Do some research P F,air rifles were designed to shoot B B's long before plastic pellets were ever thought of.My first one was a Daisy in 1947,I know what I'm talking about !

These high school students all had access to a computer and could research the damage a BB gun can do. They are adults charge them as such

I once owned a BB gun. It did not have enough power to inflict that much damage.

The best thing would be to make them pick up trash along the roads and pay them 1 dollar per hour until they have paid the cost of repairs PLUS an additional 1000 dollars per vehicle for the aggravation to the owners. They might then decide it is not all that much fun to shoot out windows.

So a BB gun isn't a gun? Interesting take there.

He probably means "evidence" not "guilt"
