Greenville, N.C. — Three Greenville teenagers were charged Sunday after police said they broke into coin-operated laundry machines and stole money.
A Greenville police officer responded of a report of a break-in in the laundry room of Landmark Apartments on East Fifth Street about 6 p.m. Sunday and found a man trying to run. The officer took the man, identified as Kasmiir Massey, 19, into custody.
An investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects: Akia Little, 18, and a 16-year-old boy.
Police said the three teens caused about $1,000 in damage to two washing machines and stole an undetermined amount of money.
Each suspect is charged with two misdemeanor counts of breaking into coin-operated machines. Little also was charged with damage to property.
Massey and Little were each held under a $5,000 secured bond. The juvenile had a $7,500 secured bond.
