Three sought in Nash County home invasion

print friendly

Nash County sheriff's investigators are looking for three men wanted in connection with a home invasion and shooting Sunday night in Nashville.

Details weren't immediately clear late Sunday evening, but authorities said the men, who were wearing red bandanas around their faces, went inside a home on Old White Oak Road around 8:42 p.m. and shot someone inside before leaving in either a silver or gray car.

It was too soon to know whether the crime was random, authorities said.

Anyone with any information about the crime is asked to call Nash County authorities at 252-459-4121.

It seems the numbers of home invasions are going up, and the number of home invasions where someone is shot, even if the homeowner isn't armed, is skyrocketing.

If that doesn't speak to gun ownership, what will?

"What about those burglars that have no intentions of harming anyone, but "defend" themselves when a victim has a gun? DOH!" mittnfriends

If they didn't have any intention of shooting anyone, why would they take a gun with them?

samdutes, I'm not kidding. Don't get me wrong, I would rather be in posession of a gun if my home was invaded. I'm just humble enough to admit that posessing a gun does not gaurantee protection. I'm also not so naive as to believe every burglar has intentions of harming someone during their illegal pursuits. I understand that a criminal is no different from a law-abiding citizen when it comes to being confronted with a gun... if they have one they will undoubtedly do something they didn't want to do in the first place.

I'm not trying to be a smart-***, but this is just critical thinking 101.

You're kidding right?

"Just because you have a gun doesn't gaurantee you will be able to access it"

Well if you can't access it, then what is the point?

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again

Just because you have a gun doesn't gaurantee you will be able to access it, as most burglars don't give their victims warning and not everyone wakes up to every sound. And if a home invasion victim does have access to their gun, it's not a gaurantee they will be able to defend themselves. What if the burglars have higher powered guns? multiple suspsects and multiple guns? What about those burglars that have no intentions of harming anyone, but "defend" themselves when a victim has a gun? DOH!
