Three sought in Durham shooting

Posted August 8, 2008

— Police were searching Friday for three men in a Thursday night shooting.

Warrants have been issued charging William Andre Jones, 26, and Terell Reginald Jones, 25, both of Glasson Street, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. William Jones also faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Three men were chasing another man through a breezeway at 3311 Glasson Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday when one of the pursuers fired two shots, police said. The man wasn't hit, but a 40-year-old woman standing on the sidewalk was shot in the foot, police said.

She was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.

The third suspect hasn't been identified. He is described as a light-complected black man with freckles. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and Timberland shoes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of William Jones or Terell Jones, the identity of the third man or about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

WRAL - I would like to apologize for my earlier comments regarding the gentleman's hair. He clearly deserves more respect than what I accorded him. Please accept my deepest apologies.

I'm sure these fine upstanding young men are just the victims of some gross misunderstanding. Y'all see them pigs fly this morning east out of Durham. Hope this makes it past the protectors of my 1st amendment rights at WRAL.

The second man broke into my house and stole a bunch of collector's items I had a few years ago. Nice to see Durham's justice system just let him back out on the street. Hopefully they'll keep him a little longer this time.

I saw a light-complected black man with freckles this morning that was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and Timberland shoes. Oh, what I have seen about 500 such dudes this morning.
