FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police said Monday that they are searching for three people wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Fayetteville man found dead in his car.

Police found August Allen "Augie" Hosack, 71, inside his 1994 Ford Taurus in the 500 block of Orlando Street on July 25 after someone in the neighborhood called to report a suspicious vehicle.

On Monday, police issued arrest warrants for LaQuin "Shorty" Lamar Corbin, 27, Amy Yarboro Collins, 35, and Joseph "Joe" Luther Lewis, 22, on charges of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police didn’t release information about a motive for the shooting or what evidence led to the charges.

Investigators said Hosack had been shot once in the leg. The car was still running, and his foot was on the brake, they said.

Bob Hosack said that his father was taking blood thinners for his diabetes and bled to death after being shot.

Police said it's unclear whether Augie Hosack was shot on Orlando Street or drove there after being shot.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Corbin, Collins or Lewis is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-549-7326 or Crime Stoppers 910-483-8477.
