Three sentenced for murder of Fayetteville veteran

Three people were sentenced Thursday in the murder of a 73-year-old Army veteran from Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three people were sentenced Thursday in the murder of a 73-year-old Army veteran from Fayetteville.

Tracy Williams, 20, Samuel Davis, 20, and Joseph Davis, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, common law robbery and conspiracy to commit murder after Clemasee Guyton’s body was found in woods along Samuel Drive in Spring Lake on April 19.

Williams was sentenced to 20 to 25 years in jail and both Samuel and Joseph Davis were sentenced to 24 to 32 years.

Guyton was reported missing by family members on April 22 after he didn’t return to his Botany Court home.
