PORTLAND, OR — Portland police are investigating three armed robberies that took place at three separate bars early Monday.

Officers said they were first called to the Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill on North Greeley Avenue around 12:48 a.m. on the report of an armed robbery. Witnesses at the scene told police that two black men, one armed with a handgun, entered the bar demanded money, cell phones and wallets. No one was hurt and the suspects left without incident.

A K-9 officer was brought to the scene to search for the suspects. The search yielded no results.

Around 2 a.m. police responded to another incident at the Sandy Hut bar on Northeast Sandy Boulevard. Police said a black suspect armed with a handgun entered the building demanding money. An employee intervened and the suspect ran out of the bar and was last seen running eastbound on Couch Street with another black man.

About 30 minutes later, Portland police responded to an armed robbery report at The Hilt bar on Northeast Alberta Street. Employees said two black men, each armed with handguns, entered and demanded money, cell phones and wallets. No one was injured.

Although the incidents are similar, police said they cannot confirm the robberies are connected.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Portland Police Bureau.
