— Three people were injured Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95, near Enfield, in Halifax County.

Just before 5 p.m., a white Range Rover veered off the interstate northbound near milemarker 157, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Driver Linda Roan, 52, of Atlanta, over-corrected and the SUV overturned multiple times, troopers said.

Front-seat passenger Tremescia Kegler, 32, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV, troopers said. Kegler was transported by helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, troopers said. She was listed in fair condition Sunday.

Paramedics transported Roan and her 1-year-old child, who was restrained in a car seat, to Halifax Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Roan was listed in good condition Sunday and her child had been released from the hospital.

Traffic was backed up along I-95 northbound for about an hour after the wreck.

Troopers said Roan fell asleep while driving. Charges are pending in the wreck.
