Three men sought in Garner Best Buy armed robbery

Posted April 17, 2012

— Garner police are searching for three men who robbed a Best Buy at White Oak Shopping Center in Garner Monday and showed what appeared to be a gun.

Three men went into the store around 7:45 p.m., picked up electronic merchandise and tried to walk out without paying, police said. Best Buy employees confronted the men, authorities said, and one of the men displayed what looked like a silver handgun.

The trio left in a black, late-model Nissan SUV/crossover vehicle, possibly a Murano, and they were last seen on Interstate 40 East. Police described the men as black, clean-cut and in their late teens or early 20s.

The first man is described as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, about 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a long-sleeve T-shirt, black pants and a black ball cap. The second man was wearing a lime green, short-sleeve T-shirt, jeans, white sneakers and a black ball cap. The third man was wearing a black, short-sleeve T-shirt, khaki shorts, black socks, white sneakers and a black ball cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Investigator P. Caldwell at 919-772-8810.

It amazes me the people that rob and drive away in such nice, late model vehicles!

I agree with BubbaDuke...it is a sign of the times. no personal accountability, no one wanting to work and earn a living by the sweat of their brow and they want everything given to them.We need to go back to Old Testament days...If you don't work...you don't eat! That would solve the obesity problem as well. It is sad that the only time people live in harmony and unity is right after a disaster, but that too is short lived.

For the intelligent and insightful comments from people like streetglide? LOL

  • lucasd06 Apr 17, 2012

@streetglide.....I hope that isn't justification for stealing, just because times are bad. Best Buy doesn't even sell anything that could be considered a necessity. What does your "will to survive" have to do with this story??
