Three men arrested in Durham
A man wanted on kidnapping and firearms charges in Durham was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, police said.
Posted — UpdatedNicholas Maurice Beatty, 26, of North Roxboro Street, was wanted on charges of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, communicating threats and discharging a firearm within the city limits.
He was arrested at an apartment at 2920 Chapel Hill Road, a Durham police spokeswoman said.
Authorities also arrested two other men who were in the apartment at the time: Dontea Cousin, 33, of Ashe Street, Durham, and Walter Chavis, 27, of Weldon Terrace, Durham.
Cousin was detained on charges that he used a vehicle to break into the Game Stop on New Hope Commons Drive in December 2010 and stealing a vehicle from Sunlight Lane during the same month.
Chavis was charged with breaking into a home on Five Oaks Drive in July and stealing several items.
