— Three people were killed Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide at a Cumberland County home, sheriff's office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said.

Shortly after 10 p.m., deputies were called to 8282 Cedar Creek Road, southeast of Fayetteville, where they found three people shot.

Deputies said the bodies of two men and one woman were found in two separate locations, but they would not elaborate.

The names of the deceased were not released.

Hey!!!! I live in Rocky Mount and I think you should re-think how you badmouth my city. It is a great place to live. All the people here show much respect for each other This is one of the safest cities.....LMAO. I was hoping to get thru all of that without laughing and I couldn't do it. HAHA...Oh man. That was hard. Now my stomach hurts.

You people live in fantasy land. No place is perfect, although some are worse than others. GR

Yeah, some are worse than others. In NC the deadly triad is composed of Fayetteville-Durham-Rocky Mount. Outside of those towns you have a fair chance of staying alive.

The only safe city is Mayberry, Andy and Barney are gone so it may be a mess also. This is indicative of today's broken society and none of us will live to see it turn around. Do not be fooled into thinking you can "elect" your way out of what is happening.

"People that feel unsafe in their city should stop wasting time on here complaining and start packing for the move to a "safe' city."

Why do the good people have to move - why not stand up against the criminals and broken justice system and lock up the criminals? Why should we move???

What does Durham have to do with Cumberland County

  • kbrianf Apr 19, 2012

This was way out in a rural area, several miles from Fayetteville. I know because I grew up just about four-five miles further south, just across the county line, from where this happened. Talked to family this morning down there and we knew one of those folks who died. Very good people in an area full of good, hard-working people. Unfortunately,it only takes one bad person in a sea of good to cause something horrible.

Sounds like something that could happen anywhere. I am sorry for the loss of life. People that feel unsafe in their city should stop wasting time on here complaining and start packing for the move to a "safe' city. Be sure to let us know when you find it.

To be fair, this spot is pretty far out in the country, not an 'urban' area. Sad to see so much despair in the world.
