Three charged in Raeford breaking and entering

Three people are charged with felony breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods in Hoke County.

RAEFORD, N.C. — Three people are charged with felony breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods in Hoke County.

Norman Emanuel Oxendine, 36, Michael Christopher Oxendine, 26, both of 311 Brewer Road in Red Springs, and Shelly Chavis, 43, of 173 St. Ann Road in Pembroke, also face felony charges of larceny after breaking and entering and conspiracy, according to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Department.

The three were arrested during a traffic stop by Hoke County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 17. Authorities were looking for a suspicious vehicle, which had been reported in the area.

Investigators said the three admitted to breaking into a residence on Hamton Drive in Raeford earlier that day. Deputies said the three also had stolen property in their vehicle.

They were being held under $15,500 bonds at the Hoke County Detention Center on Tuesday.
