Three charged in 2011 Smithfield murder

Smithfield police have charged three men in connection with the 2011 murder of an 18-year-old Clayton man.

Smithfield police have charged three men in connection with the 2011 murder of an 18-year-old Clayton man. 

Gregory Devon Obey, 29, and Antwon Quartez Obey, 28, are each charged with first-degree murder charges. Antown Obey is also charged with conspiracy to commit murder. 

Calvin Dwight Mitchell, 27, is charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder. 

According to investigators, the men were responsible for the fatal shooting of Rashieve DaShawn Ray on Oct. 27, 2011. 

Ray was found at about 1 a.m. in the front yard of 413 Collier St. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Gregory Obey, Antwon Obey were being held in the Johnston County jail Tuesday under no bond. Mitchell was in the Johnston County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

Authorities did not release information Tuesday about what led to the arrests.
