— Chapel Hill police are investigating a string of assaults on Franklin Street near the University of North Carolina campus over the past several days.

On Friday, police said, a man reported being assaulted by four men near Carolina Coffee Shop shortly after 8 p.m. One suspect was arrested following that assault, but his name was not released.

A woman said she was leaving the Pita Pit around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when three men shoved her, knocking her to the ground, police said.

Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a man said he was assaulted by four men in their late teens or early 20s near Gumby's Pizza.

No weapons were seen in any of the assaults. It wasn't clear whether the victims were UNC students.

Police have not said whether the same men were involved in each assault, but the vague descriptions provided were similar in each case.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.

Most homeless people are not criminals. Not sure what this has to do with "liberals running CH." Ignorant comments.

"Here's to hoping their next victim is armed and dangerous and puts a quick, violent end to their crime spree."

Yeah, b/c, y'know, people should get, like, the death penalty for, like, assault.

"Just a group of dumb kids."

Ah yes, of course an immediate excuse is made.

CH has been going downhill steadily for years. What do the bleeding-heart liberal 'leaders' of the town expect when they have a homeless shelter downtown and refuse to enforce pan-handling laws. The inmates are running the asylum. While the liberals look on in confusion.

"The 3 suspects were identified as 1 white male, 1 black male, and 1 Hispanic female. The white male was around 6'2", with blonde hair, beard, and mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket, white shorts, and an Auburn t-shirt."

Not sure where you are getting your info from, or if you were being facetious, but my UNC email alert describes them as follows:

1st incident: 3 black males and 1 white male.
    2nd incident: 3 black males.
3rd incident: 3 black males and 1 white male.

All incidents: suspects in late teens or early twenties.

This will be blamed on Durham somehow.

I was thinking the same thing.. a few of the last CH stories were blamed on Durham because they were on the boarder of it..One of them proved to be by a CH resident in the end. CH has plenty of crime near the clubs like this but its usually when school is in full swing.
