Threatening graffiti found at Fayetteville high school
A list that appears to threaten 10 students was found spray-painted at Douglas Byrd High in Fayetteville Thursday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Posted — UpdatedSpokeswoman Debbie Tanna said the first names of 10 children were written on a concrete pillar near a stairway. The words "are dead" were written underneath the list.
A 16-year-old student was arrested after being caught spray-painting at the school, but she hasn’t been linked to the list of names, Tanna said.
She said surveillance cameras showed the teen drawing a smiley face and graffiti on a different wall, but cameras didn't show her near the pillar with the list.
The teen, whose name wasn't released, was charged with damage to school property and disciplined by the school system.
