2016 Out and About Voters' Choice Awards

Time is running out to nominate your favorite restaurants and other local businesses for 2016 WRAL Out and About Voters' Choice Awards.

Thousands of votes have already been cast in categories including best brewery, coffee shop, salon, spa and local festival.

The nomination period runs through the end of the month. You can nominate your favorites in all categories (below). Encourage your favorite local businesses to help spread the word through their email and social media channels to make sure they get as many nominations as possible by May 29.

Nominate your favorites now

On June 1, voting officially opens featuring the top nominated local businesses. You can select one of five finalists for each category or write in your favorite. Voting ends July 10. Winners will be honored in August. Use #WRALVCAs to join the conversation.

Look at last year's winners, but note that this year we want to keep the focus on local business and less large chain restaurants and businesses.

When I first moved here I was told the Triangle is in the center. You have the beach which is a relatively short drive to the East and then you have the mountains which is a relatively short drive to the West.

My vote is the beach OR the mountains. Besides the cost of a tank of gas, the beach and the mountains are free. There is nothing comparable in the Triangle that doesn't charge an entrance fee.
