DURHAM, N.C. — About 3,000 people gathered Sunday on Duke University's campus to walk for hunger awareness and to raise money.
Participants in the 34th annual CROP Hunger Walk event strode 4.8 miles in an effort to raise $210,000.
Seventy-five percent of the money raised is used for hunger-relief efforts in 80 countries.
Twenty-five percent of the funds are distributed to hunger-fighting agencies in Durham.
