Thomas the Tank Engine will be rolling into Tweetsie Railroad in western North Carolina June 6 to June 15.

Preschoolers can hop aboard Thomas and also actually talk to him for the very first time on the tour, called Day Out with Thomas: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014.

The event includes a 25-minute ride, an opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt and take part in other Thomas activities, including storytimes, arts, craft and more. Admission to the event also includes rides, live entertainment and shows at Tweetsie, which is in Blowing Rock.

This is the 19th year for the Thomas tour. He'll stop in 42 cities across the country, including Spencer, N.C., Sept. 26 to Sept. 28 and Oct. 3 to Oct. 5 at the N.C. Transportation Museum.

Thomas departs at Tweetsie every 30 minutes, rain or shine, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., each day. Tickets are $26 for kids 3 to 12 and $39 for ages 13 and up. Kids 2 and under are admitted free. Blowing Rock is about 3.5 hours from Raleigh.
