There are plenty of things to love about fall. Depending on where you live, the leaves will soon start changing color, sweater season will return and the weather will start to cool-but most importantly, it’s time to watch “Hocus Pocus” at least 18 times before Halloween (and then twice that night).
And if just the above mention of it has you counting the days until it’s not totally weird for you to be able to watch the movie again, we have some news for you!
You remember Allison, right? Max’s eventual girlfriend after he nearly ruins everything by lighting the black flame candle? Of course you remember.
Well, get ready for some ’90s nostalgia because Vinessa Shaw, the real-life actress who played Allison, is pregnant and her announcement could not be more perfect.
Taking to Instagram, Shaw posted a clever photo of herself with her husband standing in front of one of those red carpet step-and-repeats that are usually printed with the names and logos of sponsor companies. This time though, the backdrop read, “Great news! I am pregnant.”
The full caption reads, “Great News! We are proud and excited to share that we are expecting a little one early next year!…My hubby is a graphic designer, so I hope you appreciate his cheekiness “
The couple’s wit didn’t end there, however, and her follow-up announcement is, dare we say, pure “magic.”
Captioned, “Maybe I should have used this for my pregnancy announcement?? ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£#anythinggoes,” we’d say Shaw is officially winning the pregnancy announcement game. And “Hocus Pocus” fans definitely agree.
The post racked up more than 2,500 likes in two days, along with comments from people either saying it’s a perfect announcement, or tagging their friends and asking why they weren’t clever enough to come up with it themselves when they were pregnant.
You may recognize the 41-year-old model and actress from her roles in “Eyes Wide Shut,” “40 Days and 40 Nights” and “The Hills Have Eyes.”
Shaw was a recurring cast-member on the second season of the Showtime show “Ray Donovan,” and she recently starred in the Netflix original movie “Clinical,” which is not something you want to watch before bed:
Shaw was born in Los Angeles. She started acting at a young age and earned a modeling contract when she was 13.
This isn’t the first time she’s used her Instagram to shout back to her “Hocus Pocus” days.
Last fall she shared a series of Instagram’s about the film, including a shot of the film in Spanish with the caption: “En Español! What’s the Spanish translation of yabbos, I wonder…?ð¤#abracadabra #hocuspocus”
In fall 2015 she shared a picture of her and “Max” on-set back in the day with the caption: “This #tbt is for all the die-hard #hocuspocus fans. Thank you for all the love and comments. This is from my personal photos. â¤ï¸#maxdennison #allison: #andrewcooper”
As for her latest “Hocus Pocus” social media sharing, fans were loving Shaw’s happy pregnancy news while also appreciating the throwback to the film:
