Third suspect charged in Nashville home invasion

Posted February 1, 2013

— A Rocky Mount man was arrested late Thursday in connection with a Sunday night home invasion in Nashville, authorities said.

Gregory Devonte Robertson, 18, of Hyatt Way, was charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count each of first-degree burglary and robbery with dangerous weapon. He was being held in the Nash County jail under a $500,000 bond.

The home invasion occurred at a home on Old White Oak Road. On Sunday, investigators said they were looking for three men wearing red bandannas around their faces who fled in either a silver or gray car.

Two Sharpsburg men were arrested earlier in the incident.

Tony Marichal Sharp, 19, of Weaver Circle, and Byron Dale Whitaker, 21, of Sharpe Road, each face charges of first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Whitaker also faces charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual offense.

SFSOLDIER - It's all about jobs and income...we have given everything away to China. There are no good paying jobs in this country. A man cannot live off a 7.00 an hour job, PERIOD!!

So that gives you the right to rape, rob, and murder?

Or maybe you think that criminals commit home invasions to pay for groceries, medicine, and college tuition?

So you're saying a group of men earning $7 hr is justified for robbing, kidnapping, and raping innocent people? This is exactly why my AR was purchased and will stay loaded

NOT AT ALL. BUT, THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER, WE ARE SLIPPING IN THIS COUNTRY. THERE ARE NO COMPANIES THAT PAY A MAN A DECENT WAGE FOR A DAY'S WORK. THAT SAID, IT IS NO REASON TO ROB OR HURT ANOTHER PERSON...I SAY, PUT THEIR TAILS IN JAIL FOREVER...I CARELESS.

Notice how many of these home invasions now involve rape and sexual assault?

Is this a new twist for these "tough" men that invade our homes at night? It used to be mostly robbery, now that isn't enough thrills, I suppose.aetius476

I've noticed this as well, and it's disturbing. Rape is usually about power. It seems the perps are stimulated by the power they have over the victim. It's sickening.

No everyone in this country is going to college. Face it, we are slipping here everyday, closer and closer, to a third world country status.
