— Police have charged a third man in a fatal shooting in Sharpsburg two weeks ago.

Brandon Reid Jones, 22, of 1600 Lane St. in Wilson, was shot several times July 10. He died two days later at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between groups in Sharpsburg and Wilson.

Tavoris Delino Battle, 24, of 206 Weavers Circle in Sharpsburg, was arrested Thursday evening and charged with being an accessory before and after the fact of first-degree murder. He was being held Friday in the Wilson County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

Police said Battle tried to flee when officers approached a residence on Weavers Circle, but they apprehended him after a short chase on foot.

Harold Marquavious Carr, 20, of 601 Queen St. in Sharpsburg, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder in Jones' death. Terrance Lamar Carr, 17, no address available, was arrested last week in Sharpsburg and charged with being an accessory before the fact of first-degree murder.

Harold Carr remains in the Wilson County Jail without bond, while Terrance Carr was released on bond.

As I've said before, we should publish the name of this criminal's employer, assuming he IS employed. It would serve two purposes. It would put pressure directly on people to keep their lives clean if they want to get a job. And it would put pressure on employers to hire decent people, and fire scum employees. It would definitely make a difference in the people that care to get a decent job at some point in their life. It won't clean up everyone. But it will make a difference in many young people's lives if they aspire to have good future employment. And as far as the rest that can't keep themselves clean, I don't care, and I'm sure 90+% of America doesn't care about them either.
