Third arrest made in Fayetteville shooting death

A Fayetteville man wanted in an October shooting death has been arrested in Florida, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man wanted in an October shooting death has been arrested in Florida, police said.

Robert Michael Linton, 28, of the 4100 block of Jopy Circle, was extradited to North Carolina over the weekend and now faces a first-degree murder charge in the Oct. 16 death of Karlos Bembury.

Bembury, 42, was found shot to death inside a home in the 5000 block of Blayne Drive, and police said the shooting occurred during a home invasion.

Keyelle Luavee Hassell, 34, and Brenton Victor Nottingham, 31, both of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive, were previously charged in the case.

Linton also was charged with attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in connection with an Aug. 16, 2015, incident; three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count each of conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery in an Oct. 13 incident; and robbery with a dangerous weapon in a Nov. 23 incident.

He was being held Monday without bond in the Cumberland County jail.
